HR & Recruiting Specialist
The ideal candidate will report to the VP of Operations, playing an integral role in an organization’s growth by sourcing the best talent to fill open positions. They will find and attract qualified candidates, coordinate the interview process and follow up with candidates. They will also perform HR and payroll duties. Mortgage, real estate, and/or appraisal experience is preferred. Software and technical recruiting experience are required. This position will be located in the Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL area with the flexibility to work remotely most days.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute recruiting plans
- Network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, social media, and employees
- Develop and track goals for the recruiting and hiring process
- Coordinate and implement college recruiting initiatives
- Handle administrative duties and recordkeeping
- Collect data on cost per hire and time-to-hire
- Screen applicants to evaluate if they meet the position requirements
- Work with hiring managers to create job descriptions
- Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation
- Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need
- Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting
- Assist with HR and payroll
- Assist with payroll reconciliation
- Assist with employee benefit administration
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 1+ years of experience in a progressive HR role is required
- 1+ years of experience as a technical recruiter for software companies is required
- 1+ years of mortgage, real estate, and/or appraisal experience is preferred
- Proficiency in Paylocity or similar payroll platforms is required
- Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective and cooperative working relationships built on trust
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Comfortable making decisions independently
- Working knowledge of applicant tracking
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software
- Working knowledge of interview techniques and applicant screening methods
- Deep understanding of employment laws, regulations, and human resource practices
- Familiar with a wide variety of sourcing avenues
